Project Update

We have had a quiet few weeks of harvesting but with citrus season about to explode on our doorsteps its about to get really really busy. The project has also received some incredible media attention over the past few weeks which has caused my inbox to overflow with new registrations, supporters, friends and ideas..

The Sharing Abundance project has been a wonderful success so far, but the potential for it to spread beyond just me organising fruit picking events is immense – what if there were people like me all over the place organising to pick fruit and distributing it to their local schools? How much more fruit could we pick then??

So, on Monday 7th May from 6pm til 7pm I am going to hold an information night for those people (based in Melbourne) who would like to kick start a Sharing Abundance program in their suburb. I want to share with you my experiences, my knowledge and help faciliate you to get this going in your suburb.

I’m looking for bubbly, personable, responsible, local food revolutionaries who are keen to support a local food system in their hood. You will have a keen eye for fruit trees, brave enough to knock on a strangers door and ask them if they would mind being part of a local food system, able to form relationships easily amongst your community and want to be part of this sharing movement!

If you’re interested please rsvp to juliette@sharingabundance.org
The meeting will be held at RMIT Building 88 (440 Elizabeth street, in between abeckitt and franklin streets) on level 6. Signs will direct you on where to go from there. A few nibblies will be provided to take the edge off before dinner.

Hope to see you there!

PS I will be rolling this out in NSW in early June, and the rest of Australia Julyish!
